Dian Yu is an interdisciplinary scholar trained in both engineering and business. She earned her Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University and later held a postdoctoral appointment at Northeastern University’s D’Amore-McKim School of Business, where she taught innovation and entrepreneurship.

Her work bridges technical expertise with applied research and teaching, with interests spanning drones, robotics, AI, enabling technologies, and their policy implications. She brings an applied, hands-on approach to the classroom, encouraging students to connect technological advances with industry impact and societal change.
